Basketball (M): Back on track (12/28/2009) The Lancers are young and have been having some growing pains early in the season. They have struggle to put together 4 quarters of basketball, which is common with young teams. They were hoping to figure it out over this long 5 game home stand and so far so good. On the 18th they lost a 13 point lead to East, but pulled it out in overtime. They played 3 1/2 quarters of basketball against Spanish Fork on the 22nd and held on for a 5 point win. Deng Deng, Bakata Justin, and Isaiah Tademy have led the way. Austin Scott, who leads the team in PPG, left the East game with a broken name and is yet to be cleared. The Lancers play Tooele tomorrow and a ranked Lehi team on New Years Eve before starting league play. Coach Schneiter hopes they continue to learn and grow.

Soccer (W): WE DID IT!!!!!! (10/08/2009) It has been 3 years since the girls soccer team has had a reason to celebrate. Today they have a reason to party. The Lady Lancers beat Cyprus 1-0 to end their 2009 season. For the seniors this is how you want to end your soccer career. Ashley Curfew, a senior, scored the games only goal. It came just 6 minutes into the game. The defense led by Codi Winn and Tori Casados, both seniors, held on for the shutout. Madison Peterson played lights out in the goal stopping every threat possible, including crawling to a ball that was inches from a goal. Yanira Bayardo ended her senior year with a fantastic domination in the middle, while all the girls fought hard down to the final seconds. It has been a good season and the season can not end better then with a win.

Soccer (W): Opie's Streak is Over (09/12/2009) It had been 2 1/2 years since Opie had been able to celebrate in a Region Girls Soccer game. On Thursday at Cyprus High School he was able to do so. The Lady Lancers tied the Pirates with a score of 0-0. A tie is usually not a celebration but Opie had lost 32 straight Region games. Madison Peterson, the keeper for the Lancers, made many key saves in the 2nd half to conserve the shutout. The entire team played their hearts out and had nothing left when the overtimes were over. Opie could not have been prouder of his team who gave the game everything they had to give. Next game is at Hunter on Tuesday.
